This project has been a new favorite... I also think I say that after every project but hey what can I say I love what we do! Our client is a young bachelor with a love for dark grays and more of a masculine vibe. We added some serious contrast to our light and bright rule of thumb! This once closed off dark living room with a tiny kitchen that felt like a closet when you walked into it, is now open completely read through and perfect for having company over. We removed a soffit to host brand new custom white shaker cabinets, and relocated the existing refrigerator within what once was a closet and also increased the size of the pantry. With that relocation it increased the work space within the kitchen and allowed for a new bar top peninsula. The space feels more functional and has been brought up to date with a marble look quartz countertop and a charcoal glass subway tile for contrast. We also brought in a mixture of brushed nickel and matte black metals which provides contrast and relief in the space. Within the living room Lisa designed a custom media unit to house a 65" TV with a minimal accent of shelves for display of accessories and storage below. Next up was adding new recessed lighting throughout to brighten and give a better distribution of light throughout the main areas and hallways into the bedrooms along with the perfect shade of gray paint to contrast the white cabinetry. Finally we gave the bathroom a complete facelift. This new modern, moody bathroom feels clean and bright with upgraded porcelain tile and a geometric stone shower accent that will be sure to stop people in their tracks as they pass the door. I could not be more happy with the final result of this project, it was a fun design challenge to really bring in the dark but keep the space feeling fresh and bright in its own way. Also, a HUGE thank you to my client who trusted in the design process to bring his dream space to life!
